Muhammadu Bello Kirfi, a former minister of special duties, has been cleared for immediate expulsion from the Bauchi Emirate Council for showing disloyalty and disrespect to Bala Mohammed, the state governor.
In a letter dated Tuesday and signed by Shehu Mudi Muhammad, the council also revoked the former minister’s right to use the title Wazirin Bauchi.
Shehu uttered, “I’m directed to refer to a letter received from the Ministry of Local Government Affairs of reference No: MLG/LG/S/72/T dated December 30th 2022. The content of the said letter indicated your disloyalty and disrespect to the government and the Executive Governor of the State. It therefore directed removal with immediate effect (sic).”
“In view of the above, you are hereby removed from office as Wazirin Bauchi and as a Council Member of Bauchi Emirate.”
Remember that Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, had previously suspended Muhammadu from his duties as the Wazirin of Bauchi in 2017. and reinstated on August 5th, 2022 by Governor Mohammed, who delivered the letter of reinstatement to Kirfi’s home in Bauchi.
During the administrations of Presidents Shehu Shagari and Olusegun Obasanjo, Kirfi served as both the Minister of Special Duties and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
