“Even Dangote or Wizkid Can’t Convince Me” — Lady Warns Women Against Baby Mama Trend

A Nigerian lady has ignited widespread reactions on social media after publicly criticizing what she described as the rising baby mama culture in the country.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @it_Ruth, the woman cautioned Nigerian ladies against having children for men they are not married to, warning that such decisions often lead to emotional pain, instability, and long-term regret.

According to her, motherhood should follow marriage, not promises, fame, or financial status.

In her words, she said:

“Nigerian girls, we have to put an end to this baby mama madness. If a man is not your husband, please don’t get pregnant for him.”

She stressed that wealth or celebrity status should never pressure a woman into having a child outside wedlock. To drive home her point, she stated that even if Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, or award-winning singer Wizkid asked her to have a child for them without marriage, she would refuse.

The lady argued that many men are comfortable fathering children but are often unwilling to commit to marriage afterward.

“Men will not want to marry a baby mama. Most Nigerian men do not want to end up marrying a baby mama. No ring, no baby. If you’re not his wife, don’t have a child for him,” she added.

Her blunt remarks quickly divided opinions online. While many social media users applauded her for speaking boldly and encouraging women to prioritize commitment and stability, others disagreed, arguing that marriage itself does not always guarantee happiness, loyalty, or long-term security.

The video continues to trend, fueling conversations around relationships, marriage expectations, and evolving family structures in modern Nigeria.
