Enraged youths in Enugu have reportedly taken a native doctor named Ezeani hostage after he was accused of using people in rituals.
It is said that the angry youths responded by burning his house, shrine, and a number of his properties.
A series of posts made by user @agnes_nwanneka on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) raised awareness of the incident.
The posts featured two footage from the scene, which showed crowds swarming the native doctor’s purported home.
Videos showed that fire consumed the house and other possessions, and that several objects in the shrine were destroyed.
As per the post’s caption, accusations of the native doctor’s involvement in human rituals served as the impetus for the attack.
The videos did not, however, provide any hard proof to back up the assertion. It is also alleged that the native doctor may have fled the scene.
As the post gained traction online, numerous concerned individuals took to the comment section to express their reactions and opinions on the situation.
