A Nigerian woman has sparked conversation online after sharing her emotional reaction to the hit Nollywood film Behind The Scenes, warning that it may not be suitable for everyone.
The movie, produced by Funke Akindele and Wendy Uwadiae Imasuen, tells the story of Aderonke ‘Ronky-Fella’ Faniran, a successful real estate entrepreneur whose kindness and generosity toward loved ones begin to take a personal toll.
Reacting to the film, Facebook user Adedera Bose Folashade revealed that the experience left her deeply emotional, even bringing her to tears. She advised that highly sensitive viewers might want to reconsider watching it.
“Sometimes, most could end up destroying everything you’ve built and betray you 💔. If you’re very emotional, please don’t watch it o 😭 I’ve had a headache since yesterday after watching it, and it still hasn’t gone away,” she wrote.
According to her, the film carries powerful life lessons but also explores themes of betrayal, sacrifice, and emotional strain that may hit close to home for many viewers.
Meanwhile, Behind The Scenes continues to dominate the box office, reportedly grossing over ₦2.57 billion in Nigeria. The film has broken multiple records, including becoming the fastest movie in West Africa to surpass ₦1 billion and achieving the highest single-day earnings in Nollywood history with ₦129.5 million on Boxing Day.
Its massive success highlights both its strong storytelling and the deep emotional connection it has created with audiences.
