Emdee Tiamiyu, a Nigerian YouTuber, is trending online after a video of an interview he gave to the BBC went viral on social media.
Remember that the UK government announced on Tuesday, May 23, that Nigerians and other international students will no longer be permitted to travel with family members/dependents while pursuing a Masters degree program.
To prevent visa system abuse, the UK will also remove the ability for international students to switch out of the student route and into work routes before their studies are completed under the new rule, which will take effect in January 2024.
According to Emdee Tiamiyu, who spoke to the BBC, most Nigerians migrating to the UK use schooling as a ploy to gain entry into the country.
He said;
“So the student thing is not real. It is not like they need the degrees.
“They need the degree as an access road to come into the country, so a lot of these people their priorities shifted real fast.”

has spoken on behalf of himself and of his family.
Please disregard any wrong notion he must dispelled to you.
He is an asylum seeking individual who has chosen to lie to achieve this status. Thank you
@Tobii_Aderemi: Apt and correct! He probably got into the UK through dubious means and is out of touch with reality!
