All illegal billboards and banners that were placed in front of the Obafemi Awolowo Civic & Convention Center and other important locations in Ado Ekiti have been taken down by the Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency.
It was in accordance with the laws and regulations currently in effect that direct how the Agency conducts its business, according to Mrs. Ogunmodede Bukola, who headed the enforcement team.
According to Ogunmodede, the agency will not give up on trying to raise money for the state’s coffers.
“Government is out to fulfil all the electioneering campaign promises to the people of the state and we’ll not relent in doing it as promised”. She said.
Ogunmodede urged everyone to pay their taxes on time, including people, political parties, company owners, and financial organizations.
She said that the agency is prepared to work diligently, particularly now that elections are approaching, to make sure that all licensed billboards and banners are permitted to stand and are regularly inspected.
She also demanded that everyone come to the office to pay for outdoor displays and paid the Internal Revenue Service through authorized banks.
