A Nigerian mother has captured widespread attention online after sharing how her 8-year-old daughter reacted in an unexpected way following a scolding.
The woman revealed that her daughter, born in 2017, deleted her mother’s number from her phone after being shouted at.
The simple act left the mother surprised and prompted her to reconsider her approach to parenting
The mother, who goes by the handle @rodah_ on X (formerly Twitter), shared a story about the incident along with a screenshot of their chat.
In her post, she wrote:
“The girl I gave birth to in 2017 has deleted my number today because I shouted at her. I need to retake gentle parenting classes again. Yooooh!”
Moments later, she posted a screenshot of the chat to verify her story, captioning it:
“Deleting my number at 8 yrs?? Ei, but I will do better.”
