Afrobeat musician Davido responded to the news of his father Adedeji Adeleke by contributing a sizeable sum of N1 billion to the Centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church.
The kind donation was given on Sunday at the church’s Lagos headquarters during a memorial service for Adedeji Adeleke’s late mother, Esther Adeleke.
The church’s operations and upcoming initiatives are intended to be supported by the endowment fund, which was established as part of the centennial celebrations.
Davido showed his appreciation for his father’s charitable work on social media, highlighting his support of educational and religious institutions in particular.
The singer posted the following in response to social media influencer Tunde Ednut’s viral video of the event:
“Anything Church or education, no worry, you don cash out.”
Davido also took to his Instagram story to further express his pride and appreciation, he wrote:
“My dear father inspires me every day! Love this man right here.”
