Daniel Regha, a well-known media figure, has taken issue with singer Burna Boy and other people making fun of the recently crowned Miss South Africa 2024.
Following Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina’s withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition, Burna Boy responded to the announcement of the new Miss South Africa.
A deaf woman who wins Miss South Africa 2024, according to Daniel Regha on the X platform, is an example of inclusivity.
Even though Chidinma’s situation was regrettable, judging Mia, the winner, solely on the basis of her skin tone is still racist and hypocritical.
His words: “A deaf woman just won Miss South Africa for the first time, that’s a show of representation & inclusivity; What happened to Chidimma is unfortunate, but it’s also hypocrisy to mock the winner (Mia) based on her skin colour. That’s subtle racism, & the very same thing we are trying so hard to end.
“I am tired of Africans hating on fellow Africans; We are despised by many foreigners (racists), & also disunited amongst ourselves. Africa is the one place very African should be able to call home, but we continue fighting a never-ending war. The xenophobia, the tribalism, & ethinic bigotory is truly disappointing.”
