Conor Gallagher has completed his move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid.

Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea and England, has signed with Atletico Madrid in Spain, the Premier League team announced on Wednesday.

Joao Felix, a forward for Atletico Madrid, could return to Stamford Bridge as a result of the move, with Chelsea reportedly agreeing to pay the 24-year-old £40 million ($51 million).

Felix scored four goals in 20 appearances during his dismal six-month loan at Stamford Bridge in the second half of the 2022–2023 campaign.

After Chelsea was unable to reach an agreement to acquire Madrid striker Samu Omorodion last week, Gallagher’s planned transfer to the La Liga team was completed permanently.

In order to pay for Gallagher, who had been training alone since returning to Chelsea last week after being photographed in Spain in anticipation of his planned £33 million transfer, Atletico had to sell Omorodion or another player.

Gallagher participated in 50 games for Chelsea during the previous campaign, frequently donning the captain’s armband when Reece James was out.

After 95 appearances and 10 goals in the Europa League with Chelsea in 2019, the 24-year-old is leaving the London team.
