Ayomide Adeleye, the murder suspect who killed Idowu Christiana, a young woman, was never remanded or imprisoned, according to a source.
Recall that after requesting N3M in ransom from the victim’s parent, murder suspect Ayomide Adeleye publicly admitted to kidnapping and killing Idowu Christiana.
In a post on his X page, Ben Hundeyin, the police superintendent, affirmed that they had the suspect under arrest. He also stated that the case has been immediately investigated.
A few months after this update, however, the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) claims that a reliable source with access to documents revealed that two people with the name “Ayomide Adeleye” were in their custody; neither was charged with murder, and both were later released.
This source said, “We had one in Ikoyi and one in Kirikiri Medium, but they are no longer with us here. They have been released. None of them was charged with murder or kidnapping” as reported by FIJ.
