A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express deep regret over renting a house in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after discovering that her new neighbourhood was far from peaceful.
The lady, identified on TikTok as @Favourrichman, advised prospective tenants to prioritise the neighbourhood when house-hunting, rather than focusing solely on electricity supply or the physical environment.
Sharing her experience in a viral video, she revealed that she vacated her former residence because it was located too close to the road, which exposed her to constant noise.
“It was close to the road and sometimes, if I want to sleep, I’m hearing keke sound, motor sound, and it affected me,” she explained.
However, relocating did not bring the peace she hoped for.
According to the TikToker, her new residence initially appeared calm, especially during her first week in the house. Unfortunately, things took a different turn as she began to experience persistent noise from her neighbours.
She disclosed that her neighbours frequently engage in loud arguments and discussions, often centered around popular celebrities such as Davido and social media critic VeryDarkMan.
Expressing her frustration, she said:
“Check for the neighbours. My house is comfortable. This is just a very little noise they are making now. Try and see how you can check. First week I packed in, everywhere was quiet. I’m so much in regret. I hardly sleep at night.”
Her experience has since sparked conversations online, with many social media users sharing similar stories and agreeing that neighbours can make or break one’s living experience.
