Popular American rapper Cardi B is making headlines right now after being served with a lawsuit alleging that she may have violated someone else’s copyright.
Cardi B was sued by two vocalists from Texas and Oklahoma who claimed that she had used their material without a license for her song “Enough (Miami).”
It is important to note that Cardi B’s March release, “Enough (Miami),” was a commercial success, peaking at number ten.
Insiders claim that Joshua Fraustro, better known as Sten Joddi, and Miguel Aguilar, better known as Kemika 1956, have disclosed that Cardi B and her production team sampled parts of their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” for their track.
The plaintiffs have stated that the FX series “Reservation” utilized their song as a promotional tool.
Along with Cardi B, the lawsuit names Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, producers OG Parker and DJ SwanQo as co-defendants.
Remarkably, the plaintiffs released “Greasy Frybread” roughly three years prior to Cardi B’s March 15, 2024 release of “Enough (Miami)”.
