Burna Boy, the Nigerian Afrobeat star, lost both of his nominations at the 65th Grammy Awards 2023, which were held today, Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The singer was nominated in the ‘Best Global Album’ category, alongside Angelique Kidjo, and in the ‘Best Global Performance’ category, alongside Eddy Kenzo.
Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode of South Africa defeated Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ to win the award for Best Global Music Performance.
Burna Boy’s album “Love Damini” was also nominated for Best Global Music Album.
Masa Takumi of Japan wins Best Global Album over Angelique Kidjo and Burna Boy.
