Bolanle Raheem: The prosecution of the killer cop has been taken over by Lagos State Government

The prosecution of the police officer who fatally shot Bolanle Raheem has been taken over by the Lagos State Government.

On Christmas Day, Bolanle and her husband were flagged down by ASP Drambi Vandi, who then opened fire, killing the attorney.

Vandi and his group, who are now in custody, were employees of the Ajah police department’s Ajiwe station.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has requested complete information regarding what happened on Sunday.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made his position on justice for the family known on Tuesday.

To comfort the family at their home in Ajah, Sanwo-Olu dispatched a delegation of senior officials.

Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Moyo Onigbanjo, SAN, led the team and declared that the state would bring charges in the case.

“We have the permission of Mr Governor to tell you that justice will be done in this matter. The matter will be charged to court as soon as the police send us the case file.

“I will be leading the prosecution to show the seriousness the government attaches to this matter”, Onigbanjo stated.

Gbenga Raheem, the late Bolanle’s husband, thanked Sanwo-Olu for his compassion.

Head of Service Muri Okunola, Commissioner for Women and Poverty Alleviation Bolaji Dada, Commissioner for Information Gbenga Omotoso, and Special Adviser Tubosun Alake were also included in the delegation.
