Mercy Eke, the first female winner of the Big Brother Naija reality TV series, believes that romantic connections made on the program are ploys and swindles.
Mercy revealed this in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, according to Naija News, and explained why she felt trapped in her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Ike Onyema.
Remember that Ike and Mercy were dating during the reality show? Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last outside of the program, which disappointed many fans.
Speaking about their relationship, Mercy claimed that she wouldn’t have bothered dating Ike if she had known how large her fan base was.
The reality TV star claimed that even when their relationship wasn’t working, she couldn’t leave Ike because of the cost.
Mercy emphasized that she grew up in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, and that anyone expecting her to speak with an American accent must be insane when asked about her Igbo accent.
