Atlético Madrid close to signing Argentine striker Álvarez.

Negotiations for Julián Álvarez of Manchester City are reportedly nearing completion, and Atletico Madrid will soon finalize a big transfer.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that the Spanish team’s pursuit of the Argentine striker is making significant headway.

As stated by Romano, “Manchester City has informed Atlético Madrid that their final offer for Julián Álvarez, which is valued at €75 million plus an additional €20 million, has been approved.”

This contract, which could add up to €95 million with add-ons, is a significant financial commitment for the La Liga team.

Romano stated that negotiations [are] ongoing on [the] player side, so the transfer is not yet finalized.

Romano went on, “Man City [are] to authorize Julián for medical in Spain as soon as personal terms are agreed,” which is a sign that the deal is moving along nicely.

Should this transfer go through, Atlético Madrid’s roster would gain yet another important member.

Álvarez, known for his goal-scoring prowess and versatility in attack, could provide manager Diego Simeone with additional firepower as the team aims to compete in La Liga this season.

Despite playing over 2,600 minutes last season, Alvarez was reportedly seeking a club where he could be the regular starting striker.

Despite playing more than 2,600 minutes the previous season, Alvarez, the other player facing an uncertain future at City, is determined to find a team where he is the regular starting striker, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic also stated that Alvarez and his family would be happy to relocate to a nation with a warmer climate since they had become weary of the English weather.
