Mikel Arteta has been named Premier League Coach of the Season at the maiden European edition of the Globe Soccer Awards.
Arteta enmerged the winner at a special edition of the Globe Soccer Awards held in Sardinia, Italy on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite failing to win a silverware for Arsenal in the just concluded season, Arteta’s impressive work was recognized by organisers of the award.
For the second year running, Arteta’s side lost the Premier League title to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Other winners saw Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal claim U-23 LaLiga Player of the Season, Girona’s Michel Sanchez won LaLiga Coach of the Season and Jude Belingham was voted LaLiga Player of the Season.
Also, Atalanta got the Revelation Award, Barcelona’s female side won Best Women’s Team, Manchester City were named Best Men’s team and Gianluigi Buffon was got the Career Award.
The selected winners from the European edition will be shortlisted for the year-ending global event in the United Arab Emirates.
