Fierce-looking armed security operatives chased away journalists who came to cover the process of collating results of supplementary governorship election in Adamawa State.
The journalists who arrived the collation center at about 3pm to observe the process were turned back by the security officers on guard.
“This order is from above that we should not allow journalists inside the collation center for now”, a police officer firmly told reporters.
Meanwhile, Local Government Collation Officers who should be in their various local government areas to collate results from various wards have been held at the state collation center.
Besides, the agent of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Aliyu Idi Hong alleged that INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa, was making frantic moves to relocate the state collation center to an undisclosed location.
Calls to have the REC, Yunusa to comment on the allegations were not answered.
About now, the atmosphere is tense, just as security operatives are seen in strategic positions within the state capital.
