The death of Ademola Seriki, the Nigerian ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, has been lamented by Ogun State governor Dapo Abiodun.
Seriki, a prominent member of Lagos State’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former minister of state for defense, passed away at 63 on Thursday morning.
Abiodun expressed his sorrow over the death of the diplomat, whom he described as an astute politician and consummate administrator, in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Friday.
He claimed that while serving as Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain, the late man put forth great effort to foster positive bilateral ties with the European country.
In particular, Abiodun said that the late Seriki would be remembered for his progressive politics in Lagos State and throughout Nigeria.
The governor expressed his condolences to the late Ambassador’s family, the Lagos APC, his friends, and colleagues, and he prayed that God would give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
He added that although the late Seriki would be dearly missed by the APC family, he would always be remembered by the public as a politician with a kind demeanor and a cool, collected demeanor.
However, Abiodun prayed that his soul would rest and carry on existing in the Lord’s bosom.
