The Grammy Award-winning musician Tyla surpasses fellow nominees Rema, Tems, and Asake to win the Best Afrobeats prize at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards, marking yet another significant milestone in her remarkable musical career.
Last night marked the 30th anniversary of the annual MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), which honor exceptional musicians and up-and-coming acts while showcasing the finest of the world’s musical diversity.
Rita Ora hosted the 30th edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards last night at the Co-op Arena, where top artists gave incredible performances.
Among the notable nominees for the MTV EMAs’ Best Afrobeats category were Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Tyla.
Tyla thanked the audience on stage, pointing out that her fellow nominees had made a substantial contribution to the global expansion of Afrobeats.
Tyla also expressed her sincere gratitude to her Maker, family, and friends, whose unwavering encouragement and support propelled her to this incredible accomplishment.
“I am honored to receive this award; other nominees have taken Afrobeats to this point. I want to thank my team, family, and fans, (the Tigers),for voting for me,” She said
