The wife and daughter of the late Anglican priest, Venerable Edwin Achi, have finally regained their freedom after being held hostage for three months in Kaduna State. The family was abducted on October 28, 2025, during a violent raid on their home in Nissi community.
While the priest tragically lost his life in captivity, his wife and daughter were released last night, bringing relief amid grief. Nigerians online have described the development as “bittersweet”, celebrating their safety but mourning the priest’s untimely death.
The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in northern Nigeria, particularly the risks faced by religious leaders.
