An operation in Bauchi State’s Alkaleri Local Government Area resulted in the neutralization of at least 12 alleged kidnappers and bandits.
SP Ahmad Wakil, the public relations officer for the Bauchi State Police, announced this in a statement on Monday.
According to him, security personnel engaged the suspects in four hideouts in the Alkaleri Forest: Mansur, Digare, Gwana, and Dajin Madam.
He said this: “Following the hot exchange, the superior firepower by the operatives left 12 of the kidnappers neutralised while others subdued and dislodged, scampered in disarray into nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their camps.”
He added that during the operation, both working motorcycles and weapons were found.
Wakil added that the command had increased patrols in an effort to catch the syndicate members who were evading capture.
