Monalisa Stephen, a plus-sized model and actress, has stated that she was offended when sensational singer Teniola “Teni” Apata celebrated her weight loss journey on social media.
Teni recently took Nigerians by surprise after she lost 75 pounds without surgery and shared pictures of her trim figure. She stated at the time that she decided to lose weight in order to save her life because her previous weight was affecting her health.
Monalisa, a body positivity model, responded to this in a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, saying Teni indirectly set her up for drags with her statement because people started tagging her to the post, and advised her to also lose some weight.
Monalisa stated that while she does not mind being referred to as “fat,” she dislikes it when people say being fat is unhealthy.
She also claimed that Teni put a target on her back, similar to how actress Eniola Badmus lost weight quickly after undergoing gastric bypass surgery, and that she (Monalisa) was dragged and bodyshamed by trolls.
