Two Nigerian men living abroad have ripped their Nigerian passports in protest of the poor handling of the 2023 general elections.
The men expressed their displeasure with the way the country’s Presidential and Governorship elections were conducted in videos shared online.
One of the men expressed his dissatisfaction with the election process and outcome, saying he does not believe Nigeria is redeemable.
He renounced his citizenship and tore his Nigerian passport, declaring his dissatisfaction with the country.
The second man, for his part, stated that he is first and foremost a Nigerian before an Igbo, and that he is deeply disappointed with the outcome of the election.
He stated that he did not support Peter Obi because of his tribe, but because of his abilities and competency, despite the fact that the votes of millions of Nigerians did not count. He also tore his passport out of frustration.
