Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, has come under fire for remarks he made regarding the legal battle Bobrisky, a lifestyle influencer, is facing.
Peter Obi’s appearance on Nedu Wazobia’s podcast, The Honest Bunch, has generated a lot of conversation as he discussed the nation’s focus on crossdressers.
Regarding the recent scandals involving Bobrisky and individuals like Verydarkman, the Falanas, and organizations like the Nigerian Correctional Service and the EFCC, Obi said that the public has responded strongly to these issues.
The politician, however, asked why the country devotes so much attention to such subjects when there are more urgent national issues, instead of delving into the controversies.
He made the amusing remark that some Bobrisky critics might turn to crossdressing as a coping mechanism if laws favoring women were put into place.
“These are entertainers that should not be put into politics. If tomorrow, our government says fuel is N800 for men and N400 for women, I can tell you the number of men that will wear female dress will surprise you,” he stated partly.
His comment, however, struck a cord among social media users who suggested he approves of Bobrisky’s allegations.
