Nollywood actress Regina Daniel receives criticism as she marks her stepson Amir Nwoko’s 18th birthday, just a few days after celebrating her own birthday.
On Sunday, October 14, Regina shared joyful photos and videos with the celebrant, accompanied by a heartfelt birthday message.
In her message, Regina expressed her pride in watching Amir grow into a “handsome, intelligent, compassionate, and humble young man.”
She added a loving note, saying:
“Happy 18th birthday to my adorable big boy. Watching you grow into a handsome, intelligent, compassionate and humble young man gladdens my heart. I pray that God continues to protect and watch over you in Jesus’ name. Like I always say, all you have to do is make the family proud. Love you, son.”
Fans’ responses to Regina’s post were mixed; some complimented her on her kindness and affection, while others expressed concerns about the way she worded her statement.
Some users emphasized Regina’s age difference from Amir, who is currently 18 years old, to Regina, 25, saying that her comment about “watching him grow” did not seem appropriate.
One user, @ferguson_igwe, commented: “Watching him grow? 22 yrs and 18 yrs no be age grade?”
Others came to her defence, with @osibekee stating: “She has been married for five years, meaning he was 13 and now 18. Isn’t that watching him grow enough?”
