American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch pending trial following his recent arrest on multiple charges.
People Magazine reported on September 19, 2024, citing sources that say Diddy is being watched at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail twice because of the case’s high profile.
On Monday, September 16, 2024, Diddy was taken into custody and charged with serious offenses such as kidnapping, racketeering, and sex trafficking.
Prosecutors claim that since at least 2008, the rapper allegedly operated a criminal enterprise that involved drugs and violence to coerce women into fulfilling his sexual demands.
Diddy’s legal team put up $50 million as collateral for bail, which included his $48 million home on Miami’s Star Island. However, the court denied his request, citing him as a flight risk. The judge also denied his request for house arrest with the restriction of “no female visitors.”
The rapper and music mogul could serve a 15-year to life sentence in prison if found guilty of all charges. Diddy will appear in court again the following week while the investigation progresses.
During a raid in March 2024 on his properties in Miami and Los Angeles, authorities found three AR-15 rifles and 1,000 bottles of lubricant.
