“Why Didn’t You Pay for My Offering First?” — Lady Slams Man Who Wanted Her Number in Church

A lady has caused a big talk online after she shared what happened to her in church. A man sat beside her during the service. From how he was behaving, she could tell he liked her and wanted to talk to her.

When it was time to pay offering, the man did not pay for her. She had to pay her own offering by herself. After the service, the man came to meet her and asked for her phone number.

She refused to give him the number. Instead, she asked him one question: “Why didn’t you pay my offering if you wanted to know me?”

This story has since spread online, and people are arguing about it — some say she was right, others say she was wrong.

My Thought on This

I think this story is not really about money. It is about how people show that they care or that they are serious about someone.

Some people will say the man did nothing wrong. Nobody asked him to pay her offering. He did not know her before that day, so maybe he felt it was too soon to start spending money on her.

But other people will say if a man is really interested in a woman, small things like that matter. They believe a man who truly likes a woman will want to show it through small actions, not just words. To them, if he could not even help her with something as small as offering, then maybe he was not as serious as he seemed.

My own opinion is this: both of them were not wrong. She did not owe him her number. He did not owe her his money. The real problem is that people don’t always talk plainly about what they expect from each other. She expected him to show some care first. He expected that just asking politely was enough. None of them said what they wanted out loud, and that is why there was a misunderstanding.

This kind of story becomes big online because many people are thinking about the same thing — how do you know if someone truly likes you, and how much should small gestures like this matter? There is no one correct answer, but it shows that many people still expect actions, not just words, before they trust someone’s intentions.
