“Is This How Your Mother Talks to Your Father?” – Man Shares Awkward Experience During Visit to Girlfriend’s Home

A man has gone viral after recounting how a routine visit to his girlfriend’s family home turned into an uncomfortable experience when he was unexpectedly dragged into a heated argument between her parents.

According to the man, the incident occurred shortly after he completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme and decided to spend time with his girlfriend at her family residence.

What started as a normal visit quickly became tense when his girlfriend’s parents began arguing in his presence. As the disagreement intensified, her father suddenly turned to him and asked a question that left him in an awkward position:

“Is this how your mother talks to your father?”

Wanting to remain respectful, the young man replied:

“No sir.”

However, he said his response only made the situation worse.

Next thing I knew, I was being escorted out like I was the cause of the wahala.”

The unexpected turn of events left many social media users amused, with several people sharing stories of similar situations where they found themselves caught in family disputes during visits to a partner’s home.

The story has sparked debate online, with some arguing that the visitor was unfairly blamed for a conflict he had nothing to do with, while others joked that he should have avoided answering the question altogether.

Reactions

“The moment the father asked that question, there was no correct answer.”

“You entered as a visitor and left as a witness.”

“The man just finished NYSC and immediately got posted out of the house.”

“Never get involved in a couple’s argument, especially when they’ve been married for years.”

The incident has continued to generate laughter and discussion, with many agreeing that the young man simply found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
