A Nigerian student aspiring to study Pharmacy at the University of Ibadan (UI) has turned to social media for guidance after sharing her 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.
The young lady revealed that she scored 215 in the examination and expressed concern about whether the score would be sufficient to secure admission into the highly competitive Pharmacy programme at UI.
In a post that has attracted attention online, she sought advice from fellow Nigerians on alternative courses she could consider if Pharmacy was no longer a realistic option.
She wrote:
“Please, as a science student who aimed for Pharmacy before but scored 215 in JAMB, please what related course can I study in UI?”
“Your advice is needed please guys.”
Her post quickly generated numerous responses, with many social media users offering suggestions and sharing their opinions on her chances of gaining admission.
Reactions from Netizens
Oluwaseun Ezekiel said: “That score is very low for Pharmacy. Just choose Chemistry and be praying.”
Victoria Olatoye advised: “Let her go to the UI Admissions Office. Online advice may work and it may not.”
Adesikan asked: “What is the cut-off mark for Pharmacy?”
Several other users encouraged the aspiring undergraduate to remain hopeful, explore related science courses, and seek official guidance from the university regarding available admission options.
The discussion has since sparked conversations about admission competitiveness in Nigerian universities and the challenges faced by candidates seeking placement into highly sought-after professional courses.
