A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after recounting an awkward encounter involving her former friend, his girlfriend, and a secret relationship in the United Kingdom.
In a post shared on her X handle, @olajumoke_okenla revealed that when her friend initially relocated to the UK, he appeared deeply committed to his girlfriend who was still in Nigeria.
According to her, things changed after he settled abroad and completed payment of his school fees. She said he later met a Caucasian woman who invited him over for what started as a weekend hangout.
The lady explained that her friend constantly updated her about the relationship, sending photos, stories, and details about how close they had become.
“He was literally living his best life. He was sending me updates, pictures and gist. They dated for like 5 months if not more,” she wrote.
However, the situation reportedly became tense after his girlfriend eventually joined him in the UK.
Believing she was protecting him, the narrator claimed she tried reassuring the girlfriend about his loyalty while they were apart.
To her surprise, the girlfriend immediately shut her down and replied:
“Don’t worry, stop covering for him, I know about Cynthia.”
The response reportedly left her stunned and embarrassed, especially after seeing her friend behave normally despite being exposed.
“I looked at my friend’s face. This idiot carried face like nothing happened. I don’t even know how I managed to leave their house that day because I looked so stupid,” she added.
