A Nigerian man has gone viral after sharing an incident that happened while he was boarding a bus in 2025.
In a post shared on X, the user, @Chiomaforkeeps, explained that the drama started at a checkpoint where two passengers bought bottled water from a teenage hawker.
According to him, the young boy began running after the moving bus while the buyers searched their pockets for cash.
Wanting to help, he decided to throw ₦500 to the boy so he could stop chasing the vehicle.
“The little boy was really running hard to catch up. I had 500 naira cash on hand so I threw it out for him,” he wrote.
However, things reportedly became tense after one of the passengers who bought the water still demanded change from the hawker despite seeing the money thrown to him.
The X user said the disagreement escalated after the passenger refused to refund the money.
“I gave my phone to my coursemate beside me, I was ready to go down with this guy, grabbed him inside the bus. I really wan deck am until he gave me the money,” he added.
The story has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether the man overreacted or was simply standing up for the teenage hawker.
