A Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after sharing a marital disagreement that reportedly led to her husband ignoring her for four days.
Identified as @Queeneth01olx on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that the issue began when her husband relayed an urgent ₦200,000 request from his mother and asked that it be transferred from their joint account.
According to her, the couple had agreed before marriage to operate as equal partners with a shared account. However, she refused to approve the transfer, not out of dislike for her mother-in-law, but because she was uncomfortable sending such a large amount without knowing what it was for.
“Not because I hate his mother. I actually like her. But ₦200k from our joint account without even knowing what the business is?” she wrote.
She said the next day, her sister-in-law tried to reach her, but she declined the call, and later her mother-in-law also contacted her, leaving her feeling overwhelmed.
Days later, her husband informed her that he had eventually sent the ₦200,000 to his mother from his personal account instead.
The woman further revealed that she was unaware her husband even had a separate account, describing the situation as a breach of trust.
“I have a personal rule about not accepting the bare minimum when it comes to honesty, and discovering a secret account feels like a total breach of that,” she added.
The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with users debating trust, transparency, and financial boundaries in marriage.
