A wedding ceremony in Nigeria took an unexpected turn after a groom reportedly disappeared about 30 minutes before his church service, causing panic among guests and leaving his bride anxiously waiting.
According to a woman who shared the story online, confusion began when the church filled up, preparations were complete, but the groom was suddenly nowhere to be found.
Friends and family immediately began searching while concerned whispers spread through the congregation, with many suspecting he had developed last-minute nerves.
“At first, everyone thought he just needed fresh air because of wedding pressure,” the woman recounted. “But as time kept passing, people became genuinely worried.”
After nearly an hour of searching, the groom was eventually discovered sitting quietly behind the church, casually eating jollof rice.
According to the account, the hungry groom explained that he had been too stressed to eat all day and simply wanted a quick meal before the ceremony began.
“He said he only planned to take a few spoons, but he got carried away,” the woman said.
The humorous twist reportedly continued when he returned to the altar with visible stew stains on his white shirt, prompting his bride to struggle to contain her laughter during the vows.
Despite the delay and brief panic, the ceremony proceeded successfully, and guests were left with a memorable story that quickly amused many online.
