Market Tension Erupts as Traders Confront APC Supporter Over Rising Hardship

A video making the rounds on social media shows a tense moment at a local market where traders and bystanders confronted a man openly wearing an APC-branded cap while trying to negotiate prices.

The man, identified as a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), drew attention as he attempted to bargain with sellers. His appearance quickly sparked outrage among people nearby, many of whom expressed frustration over Nigeria’s current economic hardship.

Voices in the crowd were heard criticizing him, saying:

How you go wear APC cap dey price? You nor dey shame! You dey wear APC cap. God go punish you!”

Some accused him of hypocrisy—questioning why he would haggle over prices while visibly supporting the ruling party, which many blame for rising costs of living.

The incident has since triggered mixed reactions online, with users sharing different perspectives:

@iamjohnjonel: Claimed public dissatisfaction remains high despite political dominance, referencing Bola Tinubu and APC’s control across states.

@PeborH: Argued that such reactions are meaningless unless voters change their behavior during elections.

@dea86b7cb7ae46c: Suggested the man might have faced harsher treatment in other regions.

@Wtf_sancho: Criticized the crowd, calling out perceived double standards in how ordinary supporters are treated versus political elites.

The video has continued to fuel conversations about politics, accountability, and public frustration in everyday spaces like markets.
