A married man has opened up about the emotional toll he is facing after his mother reportedly moved into his home following a cheating incident that rocked his marriage.
The man, who chose to remain anonymous, admitted he was unfaithful to his wife and said he deeply regrets his actions. However, he explained that the situation escalated after his wife informed his mother about the infidelity.
According to his account, his mother arrived at their home the same day she learned about the issue and has remained there for over a month.
He claimed that upon arrival, his mother immediately took a firm stance. She reportedly instructed his wife to stop washing his clothes or cooking for him, telling her to focus solely on herself so that her son would “learn the importance of what is called a woman.”
Despite providing money for food, the man said his mother does not allow him to eat meals prepared in the house. Instead, he has been asked to fend for himself.
He further alleged that his mother prevents his wife from cleaning his room or assisting him in any way. On multiple occasions, she reportedly insisted that he wash his own clothes and handle his chores alone.
In addition, he disclosed that his mother has stopped him from sharing the same room with his wife, insisting he must first understand the weight of his actions before reconciliation can truly happen.
While acknowledging his wrongdoing, the man said he has apologised repeatedly to his wife and promised never to repeat the mistake. He maintained that he genuinely wants to rebuild his marriage.
However, he believes his mother’s continued presence in their home is making reconciliation more difficult. According to him, she insists he should only seek forgiveness after fully “feeling the pain” of his misconduct.
“I need my wife,” he reportedly said, expressing that he feels emotionally drained and isolated in his own home.
The man also revealed that he contacted his father, hoping he would persuade his mother to return home. Instead, his father advised that she should remain for a while longer.
Although he understands his mother’s disappointment, he feels the punishment has gone too far and is now complicating efforts to repair his relationship.
The situation has since sparked widespread discussion online about marital boundaries, parental involvement in marriages, accountability, and the appropriate way to resolve family disputes.
