A 400-level Business Education student of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Idris Aremu Agboluaje, has tragically lost his life following a road accident while attempting to retrieve his student identity card ahead of his final-year examination.
According to eyewitness accounts reported by The Guardian, Agboluaje was denied entry into the examination hall after he failed to present his student ID card, which is a mandatory requirement for sitting examinations.
In a desperate attempt to meet up with the exam, the student reportedly rushed back toward the school gate to get the card. Sadly, during the process, he was involved in a fatal road accident.
The Association of Business Educators of Nigeria (ABEN), KWASU Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing the death as a painful and irreplaceable loss to the department.
“Our hearts go out to his parents, family members, friends, and classmates during this difficult time,” the association said in a statement.
Following the news, Nigerians have taken to social media to express shock and grief, offering condolences to the bereaved family and paying tribute to the late student. Many also called for a review of strict examination policies that could put students under extreme pressure.
