Man Says Wife’s Blood Transfusion During Childbirth Has Ruined Their Marriage, Seeks Advice Online

A man has ignited intense debate on social media after sharing a deeply personal account of how a medical decision made during his wife’s childbirth has severely strained their marriage.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man revealed that his wife received a blood transfusion while she was in labour—a decision he claims was taken without his consent and in direct conflict with his religious beliefs.

According to him, his faith strictly forbids blood transfusions, and he stated that his wife was fully aware of this belief long before she went into labour. He said the decision left him feeling disrespected and spiritually betrayed, as he believes his faith was disregarded at a critical moment.

Although their baby is now two months old, the man admitted that he has been struggling emotionally since the birth. He explained that every time he looks at the child, memories of the blood transfusion resurface, causing him deep emotional distress.

He further revealed that the situation has affected his ability to bond with his own child, adding that he finds it difficult to even carry the baby because of the emotional pain associated with the incident.

The man disclosed that the disagreement has taken a serious toll on their marriage. He stated that the issue has “badly affected” their relationship and that he no longer feels like continuing the marriage.

Despite this, he said his wife has been begging for forgiveness and has repeatedly urged him to consider their child and the future of their family.

Conflicted between his religious convictions, emotional turmoil, and responsibilities as a father, the man said he is unsure of what steps to take next. He ended his post by appealing to the public for advice.

His story has since sparked widespread reactions online, with social media users expressing mixed opinions. While some sympathized with his religious beliefs and feelings of betrayal, others emphasized the medical realities of childbirth and the importance of prioritizing the life and wellbeing of both mother and child.

Excerpt from his post:

*“My wife received a blood transfusion while she was in labour without my permission.

My religion does not allow blood transfusion and my wife knows this.

I feel she did not respect my faith and went against it.

Our baby is now two months old, but whenever I look at the child, I keep thinking about the blood transfusion.

I struggle to carry my own baby because of what my wife did.

This issue has badly affected our marriage, and I no longer feel like continuing the relationship.

My wife has been begging me to forgive her. For the sake of our child, I don’t know what to do. Please advise.”*
