A resurfaced video allegedly linked to the late Nigerian Afro-Fuji singer, Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has reignited public debate over the circumstances surrounding his death.
The clip, said to have been recorded during an Instagram Live session shortly before his passing, has continued to circulate widely on social media, with many users describing the situation as mysterious.
Destiny Boy died at the age of 22, just months after reportedly welcoming his first child. While news of his death was previously announced, no official cause was disclosed, leaving fans and members of the public with lingering questions.
The video, reshared by popular blogger Naijaeverything, captures voices believed to be those present during the singer’s final moments discussing what transpired before his death. In the recording, speakers suggest that the singer may have consumed a local substance, while also stating that poisoning could not be ruled out. However, these claims remain speculative, as no medical report or official statement has been released to confirm them.
Another aspect of the video that has drawn significant attention is an allegation that Fuji music veterans Pasuma and Saheed Osupa reportedly called and advised that Destiny Boy should not be buried immediately. This claim has further fueled online speculation.
In response, many Nigerians have called for greater transparency and a proper investigation into the singer’s death. Some fans also referenced an earlier reaction by singer Ruger, who expressed concern over the lack of clarity, stating, “No autopsy, nothing!”
