Lady Sparks Online Debate With List of “Things Women Should Never Give a Man”

A Nigerian lady has ignited intense debate on social media after sharing a list of what she described as “things women should never give a man” in a relationship, warning against emotional, financial, and physical over-investment without commitment.

In a video that has since gone viral, the lady cautioned women against offering shelter to a boyfriend, stating that doing so amounts to “playing mother or landlord” to a man who is not a husband.

She also warned against giving what she called “wife benefits” to a boyfriend, insisting that girlfriends should not perform marital duties without a ring. According to her, such actions only make men comfortable and encourage them to delay commitment.

The lady further advised women to “protect their wombs” by avoiding childbirth outside marriage, refraining from publicly showing off men who are not proud to show them off in return, and never handing over the keys to their homes.

“Your privacy is your power,” she said, explaining that giving a man unrestricted access to one’s personal space can open the door to control and manipulation.

She also cautioned against emotional dependence, introducing a man to family members before his intentions are clearly defined, being overly sexually available, or constantly placing one’s life on hold to accommodate a partner.

Concluding her message, she warned women never to give a man their money, saying, “You are his partner, not his ATM.”

While many social media users applauded her message as empowering and realistic, others criticised it as hypocritical, extreme, and an overgeneralisation of relationships.

The video continues to generate mixed reactions online, reflecting ongoing debates about gender roles, boundaries, and commitment in modern relationships.

Social media reactions:

@hellscreamCG: “Why are there more women advising about relationships than men? Funny how it’s still women that demand most of these things.”
