A Nigerian man who had been imprisoned without charge or trial since March 2017 has now been released.
It was learned that on March 6th, John Gift Tobia was detained in custody while his case was pending trial.
But his case was never heard in court, and he was left without a trial for eight years, four months, and ten days.
Fortunately, he was granted unconditional freedom by a Rivers State high court in June 2025.
He was observed expressing gratitude to the attornwho had taken up his case and outlining his future plans.
