Barbiecuefish, an X user, is under fire for allegedly fabricating a network problem during a verification call, right when she was asked to identify the hospital where her sister is allegedly being treated for a kidney condition.
Another user, @Hybrid_Ola, released the incident, which is currently making the rounds on the site that was once known as Twitter.
The report claims that @barbiecuefish had previously posted that her sister urgently needed a kidney transplant, which would have cost ₦10 million, and had started asking people for donations.
She was able to raise roughly ₦3.5 million in donations.

In a bid to ensure transparency, concerned individuals and potential contributors organized a call with @barbiecuefish to ask basic questions about the case.
However, when she was asked to state the name of the hospital her sister was admitted to, she suddenly began to simulate poor network connectivity.
Participants on the call said she could be heard repeating: “Hello? Hello? You dey hear me? Abi the phone don off again? Hello…” before the call dropped—raising suspicions that she was deliberately avoiding the question.
As of 24 hours after the call, @barbiecuefish has not released any hospital records or proof to validate her claims, intensifying allegations that the story may have been fabricated to fraudulently collect donations.
What began as an emotional public appeal has now turned into a potential fraud case, with people demanding answers.
